Classifications of Clay Pavers Explained

PA Paver

PA clay paving units are manufactured for high durability and a uniform shape and size, ensuring a neat and consistent finish. These pavers are designed with balanced proportions, typically in ratios of 1:1, 2:1, or 3:1, making them suitable for a wide range of paving patterns and applications.

They are produced to strict dimensional tolerances to ensure consistency across installations:

  • Individual unit tolerance: Length ±5mm, Width ±3mm, Thickness ±3mm
  • Average of 32 units: Length ±2.5mm, Width ±1.5mm, Thickness ±1.2mm

In terms of strength, PA pavers offer reliable performance:

  • Nominal modulus of rupture: 4MPa
  • Minimum individual unit strength: 2.5MPa

Note: Strength requirements apply to paving units with a length of 80mm or more.

PB Paver

PB clay paving units are manufactured for durability with a good level of uniformity in size and shape, making them a practical and cost-effective option for a wide range of paving applications.

These pavers are produced within controlled dimensional tolerances:

  • Average of 32 units: Length ±3mm, Width ±2mm, Thickness ±2mm

In terms of strength, PB pavers provide dependable performance:

  • Nominal modulus of rupture: 3MPa
  • Minimum individual unit strength: 2MPa
